Since I have never lived in the vicinity of a Sprouts Farmers Market I was not familiar with them. Happily though I happened to be on one of my random running errands in unfamiliar places, with my GPS as a guide weekly adventures.
Punching in another grocery store for coordinates I saw a sign for Sprouts Farmers Market.
I figured the name sounded like my type of food shopping and since I had never heard of them they might be worth the stop.
A giant banner across the front of the store promised 25% off all gluten free products ( coincidentally I just happen to be trying to eliminated gluten from my diet) and a tidy stack of pumpkins and festive fall decorations beckoned.
My boyfriend eats anything and I have a restrictive semi vegan always vegetarian, venturing into gluten and sugar free eating habits, so usually I have to shop at several different types of markets for each of us.
Sprouts Farmers market just happened to be the single grocery stop for both of our grocery needs, which was very exciting for me.
They have an extensive vitamin & supplement section, bulk foods, delicious junk foods like every flavor licorice and gummy candy ( yes: root beer, peach, grape apple, and watermelon, etc) , a large very clean and fresh looking meat and fish selection, beautiful produce, a huge assortment of grocery items I had never seen, a HUGE gluten free selection, prices that REALLY beat other health food markets, and a seriously helpful and friendly staff.
I will now be making a weekly or biweekly trip to either their Pasadena store (which I happened upon) or the new store they opened in Culver City which I found out about via their website.
The family that started this chain has been in the business since the 1940’s can be found in four states: California, Arizona, Colorado, and Texas.
I love this store im so glad I found them.
Thanks Sprouts.
