Teer Wade, Beauty has curves.

by J.L

I met Teer a while ago through email exchange about my clothing line. She encouraged me to add plus sizing to Jessica Louise, something I had been thinking about for quite a while but maybe needed an extra little push.

As a designer I love working with people to figure out what makes them feel comfortable in a garment. When doing photo shoots I look for models who are not the average model, closer to the average woman.

Teer is an Australian Plus sized model and am so excited to have her modeling my new plus sized range in the near future.

She’s just lovely, gorgeous and a positive role model to ladies with curves.

What or who inspired you to become a model?

Vintage pinups were my first real inspiration for Modeling. I actually started only doing pinup modelling as a hobby. The after a while the addiction grew stronger and I wanted to try all forms. When I found out about the plus size industry I knew I had to be a part of it! Over time I then gained inspiration from both plus and standard sized models. Women like Robyn Lawley, Tara Lynn, Coco Rocha, Crystal Renn and more.

You seem to me like a very positive role model to curvy girls all over the world. What has been your most memorable interaction with someone who you have inspired?

From comments on my images to new blog posts every time I hear ‘I have the same shape and now you’ve inspired me to wear *****’ Its an amazing thing to hear that simply by styling myself I not only give others inspiration for fashion but make them confident in their shape. By putting myself out in the public eye I can make girls with curves more body confident, if I can do it they can too!

Any negative ones you want to share?

Being on the internet you open yourself up for compliments and negative feed back. The worst indecent I would say was having my comments screen captured, reposted on tumblr regarding my opinion on something. Women stating ‘how dare she want to loose weight or change her body, sell out’ When they know nothing of my past health issues etc. I tend to ignore the negatives and only focus on the future and the positives.

Do you have any exciting projects coming up or any projects you have done in the past you are excited or proud of?

So many! I have an editorial coming out this April with Plus Model Magazine which I can’t wait to show! Some brilliant collaborations on my blog with many of my favourite brands including a shoot/feature for Jessica Louise Clothing!!

My past favourite projects are all my work with Pinup Girl Clothing, Kiargo, Gok Wan and Wheels & Dollbaby!

What do you hope to accomplish with your career?

I really hope to make my blog lift off even more so by the end of the year and help as many women as I can throughout the world look amazing! I would love one day to walk the catwalks of Europe, the UK and USA for some fantastic companies. Travelling internationally is high up on my list right now! I’m dying to work in the US!

I’d also like to create my own range of shapewear in the future!
