Creature Feature

It’s an exceptionally cloudy day inside of my head so on these days to fight the storm, I will sometimes look for creatures to distract me. Today I found a few I’ve never seen before. Well, there are literally millions I haven’t seen before, but that just gives me something to look forward to.

Honduran White Bat

These little guys are one of two species of bats with white coloring. And are rather small only 1-2 inches in length weighing less than an ouch. They live in Central America (which you might have guessed from their name) in dense rainforests or abandoned banana groves.

The way they group in little puff-ball colonies has given their groupings the title of cloud which seems very fitting since they do look like tiny clouds.

Margay Tiger Cat

This lovely creature can spend its entire life living in trees being so well adapted to live in the forest canopies. Apparently this guy can rotate its legs 180 degrees and run head first down branches. Margay Cats Live in the rain forests of again South America , can live 18 years and are an endangered species because humans like to make accessories out of their pelts.

Mexican Walking Fish

When i saw Mexican Walking fish it sort of reminded me of the Cow Fish only in the way it was so fantastic that i loved it immediately.

Although technically this guy is an amphibian not a fish and unfortunately also an endangered species due to pollution and habitat destruction.

Transparent  Headed Fish (Barreleye Fish)

I especially like this fish because it lives off the coast of California. I know that is silly. Barreleye fish lives 2000+ feet underwater and has the ability to rotate its eyes inside of its head.
