Angel Face Botanicals founder Jessica Ress formulates all her skin care products in her beautiful and luscious smelling laboratory located in lovely Santa Cruz, CA. Each product is made with a combination of organic natural minerals and plants creating healing and therapeutic skin care.

I visited Jessica with Emily while I was in Santa Cruz last month while she was picking out products for her Salon (I picked out several things as well).

Jessica is so knowledgable and really explained each product’s uses and benefits, as well as all the ingredients and proper applications. I love natural skin care and was so excited to get back home to Los Angeles and try everything out for myself.

First of all, I LOVE baths and Angel Face Botanicals makes the prettiest looking and most wonderful smelling bath salts. Each jar is filled with a combination of herbs, flowers and crystal sea salts.

Included is a small muslin drawstring bag to put the product in, so your bath infuses with the scents and salts but does not fill your bath with messy clean up.

I bought the Sea Goddess and Rock Star Detox, and I’m super in love with both. I wish I had a little shelf just of these in my bathroom cabinet. I put the muslin bag after all the salts have melted under my nose and breathe in the aromatic smells and just relax.

In fact one of these baths has been my great reward after long work days lately.

During my bath I wash my face with Kissed Gel Cleanser. Which has a really mild calming smell and amazingly removes makeup very well. I am really sensitive to scents in face wash especially, so I was really happy with the scent of this product first, and then extremely impressed at how clean my skin felt with just a small application.

I also bought Super Detox Activate Charcoal Cleanser which I have been alternating with to keep clear skin. I hardly have break outs, but if there is even an idea of one this cleanser has stopped the few that I was getting.

After cleansing I use Grace Toner which also has a really lovely mild scent. And also aids in clear bright skin and cell regeneration. I follow-up with Chamomile Exquisite Antioxidant Cream (not pictured, but you can find it on the website — it’s amazing).

Seriously, three of my friends told me last week that my skin was glowing and beautiful. I’m going to guess it’s the combination of these three things, but especially this moisturizer.

Then these guys. I don’t know about you, but I have dry skin sometimes. Salts with organic oils are moisturizing and just make all your skin feel clean and pretty all over.

I bought these two and love them both, but use double love scrub a little more than the Tonic one, only because I’ve been so in love with the lavender scent. Tonic is extremely refreshing and you feel all tingly from the mint and Eucalyptus. I use this even more when I have sore muscles.

I bought several other things as well, all with the same very happy result. In general this whole line is beautiful, radiant natural skin care. One more mention, Jessica Ress also wrote a skin care book as well with super easy and simple recipes. And I am going to give you one of those recipes to try.

Emily and I did this one while I was visiting. Both of us had super soft ultra moisturized skin after.

Go Green Moisture Mask

Makes 1-2 Masks

1/2 small avocado

1/4 teaspoon lemon juice

1 teaspoon spirulina

1/2 teaspoon olive oil

To make: Scoop the avocado out of its shell and place into your mixing bowl. Add the lemon Juice, spirulina, and olive oil. Mash the ingredients together with the back of your fork until you have a smooth, even consistency.

To Store: This mask should not be stored. Use Immediately.

To Use: Spread a medium-thick layer of the mask onto clean skin. Leave on skin 10-20 minutes and rinse off with warm water. Follow with toner and moisturizer.
