I’m sure you know people or are a person who gets B12 shots on a regular basis. And if not you might have heard about what sort of seems like a heath trend from all the press they are getting lately.

My best friend from my home town has been getting B12 shots every week for ages and swears she feels more energetic and her skin has never looked better.

I personally hate getting any type of shot and the thought of going every week for one seemed terrible. But in the interest of finding out what all the hype is I went with her when I was home for a weekend about a month ago. She was going to get her weekly shot so I went too. I got a B12 plus B complex shot (because she was getting a cold and I did not want to catch it).

I did get sick but only for one day which was either my immune system or help from the shot.

I spoke to her Doctor at the Santa Cruz Natuopathic Medical Center She told me I should get a shot once a week for 6 weeks and see how I feel. Then continue weekly or go bi weekly – monthly.

So I am going to try that. Its been 3 weeks so far. I was feeling very tired and extremely sluggish even with my diet,vitamins,and Yoga routine. I have noticed more energy and mental clarity since I have been getting B12 but we will see what im feeling like after 6 weeks.

At the Santa Cruz Center they have weekly Wednesday B12 shot specials and I was kind of amazed at the amount of people who showed up as well as the diversity of age and gender. Their shots are $17 with add ons of folic acid,b complex etc for an additional $5

I live in Los Angeles and called around to my local Naturopathic clinic who required a $75 initial visit before giving B12 shots so I found a place in Hollywood that is a really nice walk in Clinic. They offer B12 Shots,Vitamin C,and Folic Acid for $15 and B Complex for $25 My wait time has been 5-20 minutes and the shots are quick and painless.

6430 Selma Ave 323-848-4522

I eat Vegan mostly with a little diary if I feel like it every once in a while so my diet especially is lacking in Natural B12 since it comes from mainly animal products.

B12 Shots are also great for people who have problems with absorption.

For me its been more help than Hype.

Heres what SCNMC says B12 does for you.

Why B12?

Your body needs B12 to create energy & is not well absorbed from the diet or in capsule form.

Everyone can benefit from a B12 shot – especially those who live a busy life, athletes, seniors, vegetarians, vegans, and people on prescription meds.

After B12 injections many patients feel a natural (not jittery) boost in energy.

B12 treats:

fatigue, anemia

colds/flus

thyroid/adrenal imbalance

anxiety, depression, insomnia

PMS, menopause, acne

allergies, herpes, psoriasis

nerve pain, dementia

obesity, heart disease, osteoporosis

& more!

Signs & symptoms which can be associated with B12 deficiency:

* Low energy, chronic fatigue

* Mental fog, forgetfulness, memory loss

* Depression

* Pernicious anemia, megaloblastic anemia

* Numbness, tingling in hands or feet

* Dizziness

* Headaches

* Neurological damage

* Gastritis, diarrhea
